be
Ingredients :
For the steak bites:
1 lb (450 g) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
4 minced garlic cloves
3 tablespoons of unsalted butter
1 teaspoon of dried thyme
1 teaspoon of dried rosemary
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Mash:
2 lbs (900 g) potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/2 cup of milk
4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions :
Prepare the mash:
Cook the potatoes: Place peeled and cubed potatoes in a large saucepan. Cover with cold water, add a pinch of salt and boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.
Mashed Potatoes: Drain the potatoes and bring them back to the pot. Add milk and butter. Puree until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste
Prepare the steak bites:
Cooked Steak Bites: heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak bites in batches to avoid overcrowding the stove. Cook 2-3 minutes per side for medium quantity or until desired donut. Remove from frying pan and put away.
Making garlic butter: in the same skillet reduce the heat on medium. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until tender. Add butter, thyme and rosemary. Stir until butter is melted and garlic is slightly brown.
Combine: Flip the steak bites cooked in the pan and toss to coat in garlic butter. Cook for an extra minute to warm. Season with salt and black pepper to taste
Serve: Place steak bites on a bed of mashed potatoes. Spoon the rest of the garlic butter from the skillet on top.
